Iran’s president’s son said on Wednesday that new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was fine despite reports that he had been wounded in the war with Israel and the United States.

Yousef Pezeshkian, a government adviser, said in a post on his Telegram channel: “I heard the news that Mr. Mojtaba Khamenei was injured… I asked some friends who have an extensive network of relationships… They said he, thank God, was fine”.

After announcing the election of Mojtaba Khamenei to succeed his father, Ali Khamenei, who was assassinated on the first day of the war on February 28, state television broadcast a report on the highlights of his life, saying he was a “wounded man of the ongoing Ramadan war”.

Some reports had suggested that Mojtaba may have been killed or wounded as a result of the attack on the headquarters of his father, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, which resulted in the death of the Supreme Leader and a number of his family members.
