IAEA Director General: Germany could possess nuclear weapons within months!
Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, announced on Wednesday that Germany has everything it needs to possess nuclear weapons within months.
Grossi said in an interview with the Polish Rzeczpospolita newspaper that “Germany won’t need much time to produce nuclear weapons,” suggesting it would take months.
He added, “The Germans have the nuclear materials needed for this, and they know how to do it… They’ve all the necessary technology”.
At the same time, he stressed that these were merely hypothetical speculations, pointing out that adherence to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty is in the interest of European countries, explaining that “in international relations, no country, especially a powerful one, follows the principle of altruism; it acts in its own interests”.
Grossi concluded by saying, “European countries have come to the conclusion that a world in which everyone is allowed to possess nuclear weapons will lead to catastrophe”.
It’s noteworthy that Jens Spahn, head of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Christian Social Union (CSU) bloc in the Bundestag, stated last June that the US nuclear weapons deployed in Germany aren’t sufficient to contain Russia.
Therefore, he believes that Germany or the European Union should have access to the nuclear arsenals of France or Britain.
