Hijack attempt on a Russian “Aeroflot” plane

An Aeroflot flight from Surgut to Moscow was landed in Khanty-Mansijsk airport after the crew managed to convince the passenger who is apparently hijacked the plane and ordered to change the plane direction, to land at the airport for refueling.

The plane has changed its direction over the city of Yegorsk.

The Hijacker demanded to go to Afghanistan, was supposed to arrive at Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow at 16:20 Moscow time.

FlightRadar website later reported that the plane had reduced the flight from 10 to 2.3 kilometers as it approached the two Khanty-Mansijsk district.

It should be noted that Aeroflot has not yet commented on the incident.

The National Counter-Terrorism Committee has yet to comment on the incident.
