This is the man who will succeed Trump if he’s removed from office!
The New York Times published an article by journalist Glenn Collins, saying that there is much talk about Trump’s trial.
How will people feel when they know the man who will succeed him if he is removed?
The article said that perhaps many Americans didn’t think about who would succeed Trump if he was removed and expelled from office.
His successor, who will be president according to the US Constitution, is his deputy Mike Pence, a man who calls his wife “Mama” and has a rule not to drink in a room where mixed of women and men without his wife being with him, or having a meal with a woman alone unless he is married to her.
If we say that the interpretation of the Vice President’s rules on gender segregation is that this man cannot control himself, unless someone protects the female close to him, it would be easy.
But we have to assume that Pence lives in a world that is dependent on the old system, where women were not seen as employees, businesswomen or colleagues, but as a completely different sex with their sex, special treatment and special discrimination.
In practice – if he becomes president – does he mean that he cannot have a special lunch with Nancy Pelosi, the leader of the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives, unless Chuck Schumer (Republican majority leader in the Senate) is with them too?
If Theresa May wanted to sit with him and deal with the Brexit, could she have a snack with him in private?
This is not a good start.
The big news for the week was that the “Mama” (his wife) Karen Pence had taken up an education job at a school that banned gay students and asked staff to acknowledge that God didn’t approve same sex marriage.
It was a reminder that Pence spent most of his political life fighting gay rights.
This is also part of the opposition to sex outside the traditional circle of marriage.
In the state of Indiana, Pence tried to shut down pregnancy control clinics.
In one district, his attempts have resulted in no free HIV testing services, and this has caused an epidemic.
But, feeling a penny and his wife is a matter of faith, and I’m sure they share their convictions with their colleagues, neighbors and close friend who has married three times (President Donald Trump).
Perhaps while sharing these beliefs, Trump entertains stories about how he is encouraging the popular press in New York by using provocative titles about his out-of-wedlock relationships and his extraordinary ability to sexually harass women.
If we put religion aside, Pence is a conservative, a good friend of the Koch brothers (an American family of business owners).
He doesn’t expect to do anything more to climate change than his boss.
When he was governor of Indiana, he proved his feelings toward immigrants, by trying to prevent any Syrian family from living in the state.
On the positive side, he has a living penny, a dog, a cat and a rabbit.
The main thing would be that the end of a pet-free white house.
He has been a vice-president for two years, not as a general impression; his duties were not limited to walking behind the president and shaking his head.
Though he tends to be emotional when mentioning the name of his boss.
The reader can remember the government meeting at the end of 2017, when he delivered a speech in support of Tramp that included 14 praise for him (as Aaron Blake of The Washington Post calculated), with a rate of praise every 12.5 seconds, ranging from: “I have restored America’s credibility on the world stage, To: “I feel very humble, as Vice President, to be in this position”.
Among the achievements of Pence as vice president, there is flying to Indianapolis at the expense of the taxpayer to be able to attend a match of the American Football Association.
He left the game when some players kneeled on a leg and a half when playing US national peace.
He also organized a Bible reading of government members led by a priest who described Catholicism as a “false” religion, and believed that a woman who had children and worked outside her home committed a sin.
So what do you think if Trump was tried?
Will we be in the worst situation in our history?
Some believe that this succession will be good, like Anne Coulter said, “If we don’t get a wall, President Pence is better”.
If we study deeply the debates about the dining table in America that support Trump’s trial, when he mentions Pence he will say two-thirds: “Well, at least he will not bomb anyone”.
This is an important point, but Donald Trump was in office for now and was not very aggressive.
On the face of it, he seems to be looking in the other direction, by withdrawing troops from Syria and sometimes ranting, though illogical, that he has ended the nuclear threat from North Korea.
“We have been used to bragging about this administration, but it was strange. It came an hour after the news of the killing of Americans in an attack on the state”, Pence told the world this week.
Trump’s trial, therefore, is not necessarily a door to a better life, but it will mean taking a stand against the idea that the president will hinder justice and remain in the White House.
