Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem said on Friday that the party is preparing itself for a long confrontation with Israel.

He pointed out that diplomatic solutions have failed to stop Israeli aggressions and that there is no solution except through resistance, otherwise Lebanon is heading towards demise.

In a video speech on the occasion of International Quds Day, Qassem said: “We’ve prepared ourselves for a long confrontation and they will be surprised in the field, and the enemy will see our strength, and its threats don’t scare us”.

“We’re facing an aggression that poses an existential threat, and it has not stopped despite the ceasefire agreement for 15 months,” he added.

Qassem explained that after the aggression against Iran, we found that the conditions have become suitable to confront the enemy after months of its attacks.

He continued: “We decided to name the battle we are fighting the battle of the Eating Storm, which is the defense of our land and homeland”.

“The battle we are fighting is not for anyone and everyone should participate in it,” Qassem stressed.

Diplomatic solutions have failed to stop the attacks, he said, and there is no solution but resistance, otherwise Lebanon will be heading towards demise.

Regarding Hezbollah’s military operation, Qassem said, “We’ve learned lessons from the battle of the Guardians of Courage”.

“The resistance is fighting with mobile tactics and targeting enemy soldiers without a fixed position, and we confirm that the enemy now does not have the ability to achieve its goals,” he said.

“The Lebanese government hasn’t been able to achieve sovereignty or protect its citizens,” he said.

He called on the government in Lebanon to stop making concessions, as he put it.

Qassem said: “The Israeli landing in the town of Nabi failed both times, and if there was no resistance, what would the Israeli do? He would enter the houses of the Nabi Sheit, house by house, and kill them one by one and take whoever he wanted”.

“The solution is clear, which is to stop the aggression completely, and Israel to withdraw completely from the occupied territories, release the prisoners, return the people to their villages and start reconstruction, so that the resistance stops this battle,” he said.

Last Friday and Monday, the Israeli army carried out two failed landing attempts in the village of Nabi in the Bekaa.

On Monday, the Hezbollah said, “After the failure of the Israeli landing two days ago (Friday evening) in the town of Nabi, the Israeli enemy again tried to carry out a landing in the same area”.

Hezbollah added that his fighters had observed “the infiltration of about 15 helicopters belonging to the Israeli enemy army from the Syrian direction”.
