Hezbollah announced, at dawn on Wednesday, that it had confronted an Israeli force that had tried to infiltrate the town of Adaisseh in the Marjeyoun district in the Nabatieh Governorate in southern Lebanon, inflicting losses on it and forcing it to retreat.
This is the first time that Hezbollah has announced that it has clashed with an Israeli infantry force since Israel announced the start of a military operation in southern Lebanon, at dawn on Tuesday.
No ground incursion by Israeli forces was observed throughout Tuesday, while Hezbollah denied Israel’s allegations in this regard, stressing that no direct clashes took place between its elements and the Israeli army in southern Lebanon at that time.
In a statement posted by Hezbollah on Telegram, “Our fighters confronted at dawn on Wednesday, an Israeli infantry force that tried to infiltrate the town of Adaisseh from the direction of Khallet al Mahafer, and clashed with it and inflicted losses on, and forced it to retreat”.
Hezbollah also announced, at dawn on Wednesday, that it had bombarded a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the Shomira Barracks in the north with a barrage of rockets.
the statement continued “Our fighters targeted a gathering of Israeli enemy forces in the Shomera barracks with a missile salvo and achieved a direct hit”.
In this context, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that air raid sirens sounded in the Upper Galilee region in northern Israel, and that a rocket launched from Lebanon fell in an open area in the center of the country.
