Abu Obeida, spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced Saturday night that their fighters had captured new Israeli soldiers during an operation in the Gaza Strip.

Abu Obeida said in a televised Audio speech that al Qassam fighters carried out a vehicle operation on Saturday afternoon, in the northern Gaza Strip, where they lured a Zionist force to a tunnel in Jabaliya camp.

According to him, “The al Qassam fighters ambushed this force inside the tunnel and at its entrance, and were able to engage its members from zero distance”.

Abu Obeida explained that when a support force arrived, it was attacked with improvised explosive devices.

“They killed and wounded all members of the force and seized its military equipment,” he said.

“They killed and wounded all members of the force and seized its military equipment,” he said.

Abu Obeida’s speech included video footage showing the withdrawal of one of the bodies of the dead IDF who were detained in the operation inside a tunnel, in addition to a helmet, military uniforms and weapons.

“This is what allowed it to be published”, he said.

For its part, the Israeli army denied what the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced regarding the capture of Israeli soldiers by the movement’s fighters during the fighting in Jabaliya in the Gaza Strip.

“The IDF makes it clear that there has been no incident in which a soldier was abducted,” the Israeli army said in a statement.
