Hamas’ al Qassam Brigades broadcast footage of Israeli prisoners killed by the Israeli army in Gaza
The al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance, sending their last messages, before they were all Movement Hamas, broadcasted a video on Tuesday evening showing footage of prisoners it holds killed in raids by the Israeli army.
The footage included phrases from previous speeches by the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he pledged to return all prisoners from Gaza, but the army was killing them by bombing the places where they were being held.
A number of prisoners appeared in the video, appealing for their return alive from Gaza, but it later became clear that they had been killed by Israeli army raids.
Al Qassam described Netanyahu as “devil” and told the Israeli public, “He promises them and makes them happy,” in reference to his false promises to the families of the prisoners.
This comes in conjunction with what the Israeli army announced earlier today, that it had found the bodies of six prisoners in the Gaza Strip during an operation carried out in cooperation with the Shin Bet.
In a later statement, it said that it had completed the operation on Monday evening and had found a tunnel about ten meters deep.
Israel Today newspaper revealed on Tuesday, that the Israeli army began examining the bodies of 6 prisoners who were announced to have been recovered from Gaza this morning, to confirm whether or not they were killed by friendly fire.
In the details, Israel Today reported that the Israeli army is still investigating the circumstances of the death of the six, and is examining whether they were killed by direct army fire or by their kidnappers.
In other investigations, the Israeli Channel 12 quoted the army as saying that the attacks that took place last March, near the tunnel from which a number of prisoners were rescued, may have led to their deaths.
Israeli media also reported that estimates indicate that 5 out of 6 bodies of prisoners who were returned were killed by Israeli army fire during the ground operation in Khan Yunis, about six months ago.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that the kidnapped people suffocated to death in the tunnel due to a fire that broke out as a result of an Israeli army attack.
In this context, the Wall Street Journal, quoted Israeli security officials as saying that they believe that more prisoners will return dead from the Gaza Strip if an agreement isn’t reached to rescue them soon.
The most Israeli security officials insist that reaching an agreement is the only way to return the remaining prisoners, who were captured on October 7.
The families of the prisoners, in addition to the settlers, continue to demonstrate in the streets of Tel Aviv, demanding the completion of a swap deal, and criticizing the performance of the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his procrastination in this file, endangering the lives of the prisoners.
The families of the Israeli prisoners held the Israeli government a moral obligation to return all the dead for a dignified burial and to return all the living kidnapped for rehabilitation.
“The immediate return of all 109 abductees will only be possible through reaching an agreement,” the families wrote on X.
The families continued, “The government, with the help of mediators, must do everything to sign the exchange deal with Hamas that is now on the table”.
Hamas has announced on more than one occasion in recent months that Israeli prisoners were killed by Israeli army during the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
