Greek authorities confiscate huge amount of drugs coming from Syria

The Financial Crimes Unit said on Friday that the Coast Guard and anti-narcotics officers had seized three containers filled with amphetamines.
The operation involved 20 officers and 5.25 tons of the drug, 33 million tablets, were seized from containers shipped from Syria.
“This is the largest amount being confiscated globally, which prevents organized crime from revenues exceeding $ 660 million (€ 587.45 million)”, the Financial Crimes Unit said in a statement.
The Financial Crimes Unit said the Greek authorities were trying to determine whether the last destination of the shipment was China, without giving further details.
