Great concern in Israel over US moves to conclude a nuclear agreement with Iran
Concern is growing in Israel over a shift in US President Donald Trump’s positions on issues of critical importance to Tel Aviv, particularly after Israel was excluded from his recent visit to the Middle East.
NBC News, citing a source familiar with the relationship between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reported, “Israel is increasingly concerned about Trump’s rapid nuclear agreement with Iran and the influence of Arab leaders on the president’s thinking”.
NBC News added that Trump’s recent trip to the Middle East revealed a chill in his relationship with Netanyahu, who appeared more isolated than ever.
Israel’s primary concerns relate to its national security, from Iran and its nuclear program to the war in Gaza, and to the changing dynamics in Syria.
