German Defense Minister: Putin is like Hitler… he won’t stop at the borders of Ukraine and will march towards the rest of Europe!
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius accused Russian President Vladimir Putin that, like Adolf Hitler, he won’t stop at the borders of Ukraine and will continue his march towards Europe.
Pistorius’s statements came during the launch of a book about Winston Churchill, the British Prime Minister during World War II, in Berlin on Wednesday.
The German defense minister stressed that “Putin won’t stop once the war against Ukraine ends,” noting, “the Russian president made this clear with the same clarity that Hitler showed… He always said he wouldn’t stop”.
Pistorius wasn’t the first to claim that Putin intends to launch an attack on NATO territory.
He was preceded by Polish President Andrzej Duda, British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps, and his US counterpart, Lloyd Austin, as they all claimed that the Russian leader intends to push his forces through Ukraine and into Europe.
Pistorius wasn’t the only European official to compare Putin to Hitler, as the Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda preceded him in doing so last month when he claimed that “just as Czechoslovakia didn’t satisfy Hitler, Ukraine won’t satisfy Putin”.
Britain’s King Charles III, then a prince, also compared Putin to Hitler in 2014, as well as the former US secretary Hillary Clinton.
