Donald Trump injured after an alleged failed assassination attempt

Video footage during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday showed an incident that caused former US President Donald Trump to lie on the ground after hearing a sound similar to gunshots.

According to US media reports, Trump was injured during this incident.

In the video, Trump appeared to put his hand on his ear after hearing the sound, then fell to the ground as attendees shouted get down.

Members of the Secret Service gathered around him to protect him.

Trump was seen bleeding from his ear with blood on his face, surrounded by Secret Service personnel who drove him away, raising his hand as a sign of victory.
CNN reported that Trump was injured during that campaign rally in Pennsylvania, and there has yet to be official confirmation about the details of the incident.

Reporters accompanying Trump confirmed that they heard gunfire shortly after his speech began.

Trump’s campaign declared on X that the former president was fine, calling the incident a “heinous act”.

The statement expressed Trump’s thanks to law enforcement and first responders for their swift action, explaining that he is undergoing a medical examination at a local facility, with promises of more details later.

Security authorities announced that the gathering site was now a crime zone under investigation.

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said that the Secret Service had taken precautionary measures to ensure the former president’s safety, adding that an investigation was ongoing and more information would be released as it became available.

According to a number of eyewitnesses, the gunman was exposed, as they were able to see him climbing onto the roofs of one of the neighboring buildings, which was only 50 feet away from the rally gathering, carrying a sniper rifle and pointing it at Trump.

They notified the security men in the place, who were in the A state of unawareness of what was happening, until the sound of 5 bullets was heard, followed by two bullets, one of which hit Trump’s ear, after which security guards rushed to remove him from the place.

Later, in his first appearance after the assassination attempt, Trump was seen disembarking from his plane unaided, according to a video posted by the deputy director of communications for his team on social media early Sunday morning.

In the video, Trump is seen wearing a navy suit and a white shirt without a tie as he descends the plane’s stairs as an armed security officer is present.

Trump’s right ear, which was injured in the assassination attempt, did not appear.

Trump was discharged from the hospital earlier after being shot in the right ear, in an incident the FBI described as an assassination attempt.

According to the New York Times, Trump flew to New Jersey to spend the night there.
