Democrat Tulsi Gabard announces her candidacy for the US presidential election; scheduled on Nov 3rd 2020
US House of Representatives Democrat, state of Hawaii, Tulsi Gabard has announced her intention to run for president in the United States in 2020.
This came during statements made by Gabard to “CNN” on Friday, indicating that it will announce its candidacy officially next week.
According to the Associated Press, Gabbard, 37, participated in the Iraq war and was the first Hindu to be elected to Congress in 2013.
Gabard had a secret visit to Syria in early 2017 and held a meeting with Syrian President Bashar Al Assad, a move that aroused outrage within the United States, but justified the visit by “seeking to identify opponents to help bring peace”.
She also angered her fellow Democrats when she met President Donald Trump after winning the presidency by the end of 2016.
The next US presidential election is scheduled for Nov. 3, 2020.
