CNN: A US cell in Israel contributed to the liberation of 4 hostages in Gaza
CNN reported on Saturday that a US cell in Israel contributed to the rescue of 4 detainees in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
CNN quoted an unnamed US official as saying that “a US cell in Israel contributed to the operation to free 4 hostages”.
The US official added that the cell supported efforts to rescue four hostages and worked with Israeli forces in the operation to free them.
Previously, CNN reported that Israeli forces prepared for weeks for Saturday’s operation, with the participation of hundreds of members of the army, the internal intelligence service, and a special police unit.
Israel’s state broadcaster published a video showing the detainees being transferred from Nuseirat camp to a helicopter waiting for them on the Gaza shore, which later took them to Israel.
Later, the Israeli army launched a large-scale and unprecedented attack on Nuseirat refugee camp and other areas in the central Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army said in a brief statement broadcast on X that its forces were attacking infrastructure in the Nuseirat area, while the Israeli Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper described the large-scale attack as an unprecedented.
