Circassians in Syria responded to Israel’s efforts to attract them by allocating a billion dollars to them and another minority

On Sunday, the Free Circassians Movement in Syria issued a statement announcing its categorical rejection of Israel’s attempts to recruit them.
In the statement, the movement expressed its strong condemnation of the statements made by Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, who revealed a plan to support the Druze and Circassian communities in Israel, in addition to bringing in workers from Syria’s Druze to work in the Golan settlements.
The Free Circassians movement considered that these moves aim to destabilize the Syrian national fabric and stir up divisions among the people, stressing that the Circassians in Syria are an integral part of the homeland, and that Israel’s attempts to influence their loyalty will not succeed.
The movement also stressed that Israel’s exploitation of the difficult economic conditions experienced by Syrians in order to push them towards its political agendas is doomed to failure.
According to the statement, the Circassians have always been at the forefront of defending Syria’s unity and independence, and have made great sacrifices in the wars in Palestine and the Golan Heights.
The statement added that any Israeli attempts to provide suspicious financial or political support won’t affect the Circassians’ firm positions rejecting Israeli interventions.
The movement made clear its complete rejection of any divisive projects aimed at fragmenting Syria on ethnic or sectarian grounds, noting that Syrian national awareness will be sufficient to thwart Israeli plans.
The movement concluded its statement by calling on all Syrians to be vigilant and pay attention to what Israel is trying to achieve through its media campaigns, which are no less dangerous than its military interventions.
The statement comes after statements by the Israeli Defense Minister, who announced that the Israeli government will allow Druze workers from Syria to work in the Golan Heights settlements.
The Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz confirmed that Israel has allocated aid to support the Druze and Circassian communities as part of plans to strengthen these groups and protect them from threats.
The announcement coincided with reports that Israel is seeking to gain international support for the idea of federalizing Syria, and has allocated more than a billion dollars to support the Druze and Circassian communities in the occupied Golan, with the aim of convincing them not to support the new Syrian government.
