China responds to Trump’s threats to the World Health Organization: “rely on unhelpful, pointless intrusions and words”

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said recent complaints by US President Donald Trump in which he accused the World Health Organization of favoring China in connection with the Coronavirus pandemic crisis are “pointless”.
“Bloomberg’s accusations depended on” intrigues and unconfirmed words, “Lijian was quoted by Bloomberg as saying in a regular press release today in Beijing.
This was in response to Trump’s threat to withdraw WHO funding permanently if she did not commit to “substantial improvements” within 30 days, according to a letter to the WHO Director-General that Trump shared on Twitter on Monday.
In the four-page letter addressed to the organization’s director-general, Tedros Adhanom, Trump outlined what he described as “repeated mistakes” on the part of the organization.
Trump said that the World Health Organization shared the responsibility for the large number of deaths in the Coronavirus epidemic.
He added that mismanagement by the WHO and reliance on information from China had greatly exacerbated the epidemic and spread it globally.
