Bloomberg: The United States calls on Poland to clarify the recent statements regarding stop supporting Ukraine
Warsaw representatives privately assured their foreign colleagues that military support for Ukraine will continue, albeit on a smaller scale, media reported on Saturday.
The United States requested clarification from Poland about its support for Ukraine, after Warsaw said that the country had stopped military aid to Kiev.
Bloomberg, referring to a senior representative of the US Department of Defense, earlier reported that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said, “Poland is no longer transferring any weapons to Ukraine”.
The source confirmed that Poland is still committed to supporting Ukraine, but the country’s exact position is unclear.
The Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said earlier that the country has stopped supplying weapons to Ukraine because it feels an effort to develop its army.
The US official said, “The differences between the allies haven’t yet led to cracks in the unity of the alliance”.
According to Bloomberg, Warsaw representatives privately assured foreign colleagues that military support for Ukraine would continue, albeit on a smaller scale, stressing that the loss of support from Poland threatens to undermine NATO unity.
The conflict, which began on a large scale due to the embargo on the supply of Ukrainian grain, suddenly called into question the unity that had defined neighbors’ relations, although both sides later called for easing tensions, which became a danger to European solidarity with Ukraine.
