A Russian victory in the Ukraine conflict would force the Pentagon to increase spending by more than $800 billion by 2029, Bloomberg reported, citing a report.

Bloomberg stated that the report issued by the American Enterprise Institute justified this measure by the alleged need to contain and repel Russian attacks outside Ukraine.

The report concluded that supporting Ukraine is in the financial interest of the United States.

The short-term costs of helping Ukraine would be much lower for the United States than the long-term costs of a Russian victory, experts added.

The US Department of Defense announced earlier today that total US military aid to Ukraine during President Joe Biden’s term has exceeded $66.5 billion, including nearly $65.9 billion since February 24, 2022.
