Axios: Zelensky will meet Trump in Washington on Monday

Axios reported that Kyiv regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky plans to visit Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump next Monday.

Trump had a phone calls with Zelensky and European leaders after his talks with President Vladimir Putin in Alaska was difficult.

He stated that Trump told Zelensky and EU leaders that he and Putin support a comprehensive peace agreement for Ukraine, not a temporary ceasefire.

Putin and Trump concluded their talks in Alaska on Saturday, where the two leaders met at the Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage for a meeting that lasted two hours and 45 minutes.

The meeting was attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov.

The United States was represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Representative of the President Steven Witkoff.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Saturday that he will travel to Washington on Monday to discuss ending the war with his US counterpart Donald Trump.

Zelensky’s announcement came after a phone call with Trump, during which he said the latter briefed him on the key points of his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin during their summit in Alaska.

Zelensky added, “On Monday, I’ll meet with President Trump in Washington, D.C., to discuss all the details related to ending the killing and war,” adding, “I am grateful for this invitation”.

Zelensky noted that he had a lengthy and substantive call with Trump, which began as a bilateral conversation before being joined by European leaders.

Zelensky said, “Ukraine affirms that fundamental issues can be discussed at the presidents’ level,” noting that “the tripartite format is appropriate for this”.
