An Israeli attack kills a Lebanese army officer who had altercation with Israeli soldiers at the borders in 2023

“Israel’s war is with all of Lebanon and the Lebanese,” This is how Lebanese on social media commented on the news of the killing of Lebanese officer name, Mohammad Farhat.

A video of the Lebanese officer dating back to March 5, 2023, during his argument with an Israeli officer during the border demarcation process and his confrontation with the Israeli army’s attempt at the time to install barbed wire on the Blue Line in the outskirts of the town of Aita al Shaab in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese army said that Major Mohammad Farhat, and soldiers Mohammad Bazzal and Musa Mahna, were killed in an Israeli attack while they were treating the wounded in another raid on Yater.

The news spread among platform users and followers of the prevailing situation in Lebanon until it topped the pages across various social media platforms at the Arab level, where many activists described Major Farhat as a hero and published the famous video of him and his manly stance in protecting the borders of his homeland, Lebanon.

While other pioneers saw that the Israeli army wanted to take revenge on the Lebanese officer for his heroic stance.

Major Mohammad Farhat is from the town of Deir Qanoun Ras al Ain, in the Tyre region, and he his parents’ only child.

He was killed in an Israeli army raid on an army patrol in Yater region, while and the two other soldiers were on a mission to evacuate wounded people from the region.

Major Farhat’s name entered the hearts of the Lebanese on the day a video was documented on March, 2023, as he confronted Israeli soldiers at the border, objecting to the placement of a marker inside Lebanese territory, while UNIFIL was carrying out this mission.
