A group of young men launched an attack with machine guns and mediums on one of the oil fields controlled by the US army in eastern Syria.

The al Sayjan oil field, which is close to the al Omar oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir al Zour governorate, was subjected to an armed attack carried out by unknown persons, which resulted in the killing of two field guards loyal to the US forces.

The armed attack came a few hours after the al Omar oil field, which is under the control of the US army, was subjected to a missile attack, the most violent of its kind.

The attack was launched by a group of masked young men riding motorcycles.

Meanwhile, violent clashes took place with mercenary forces trained by the US army to protect the field and continued until the morning, which resulted in the killing of two guards loyal to the US forces and the injury of others.

The American forces began immediately after the attack with the support of their mercenaries through the air force, without direct intervention in the battle on the ground.

In this context, unknown persons launched another attack with machine guns and RPGs, targeting two checkpoints of SDF militiamen loyal to the US Army in the village of al Rabidah, north of Deir al Zour.

Immediately after the attack, the US military moved its warplanes and reconnaissance planes over the area.

For its part, the International Coalition issued a statement confirming that the al Omar oil field base was bombed yesterday evening by three missiles, without causing any damage to its military base, and a missile launcher was found 5 km from the base.

The US military and allied foreign forces have 28 military bases in Syria, and they take the form of a tight cordon that surrounds the Syrian oil and gas sources and their largest fields, which produce the majority of the country’s underground wealth.

And the Syrian Ministry of Oil revealed last August that “the American occupation forces and their mercenaries steal up to 66,000 barrels per day from the fields they occupy in eastern Syria out of a total daily production of 80.3 thousand barrels.

US Army officers and soldiers are active in exporting stolen Syrian oil through the illegal crossings in northern and northeastern Syria, in preparation for selling it in the nearby black markets, such as Iraqi Kurdistan and other destinations, including the Idlib region, which is under the control of Haya’t Tahrir al Sham (al Nusra Front), while Syria suffers in general, a suffocating fuel crisis as a result of the economic blockade on the country.
