A violent Russian attack with dozens of drones and missiles on Ukrainian territory and Kiev confirms that some of them were shot down
Ukrainian air defense systems destroyed nine of 15 attack drones launched by Russia overnight on Ukrainian territory, along with two cruise missiles, the Ukrainian air force said on Tuesday.
The Ukrainian Air Force said that Iranian-made Shahid drone launched by Russia were destroyed in several regions of Ukraine.
Two cruise missiles were shot down over the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Air Force didn’t say what happened to the drones that weren’t shot down and whether there was damage or casualties as a result of the attack.
In addition, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday that Russian air defense systems destroyed a Tochka-U tactical ballistic missile launched from Ukraine over the Belgorod region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Telegram that the attack occurred at around 05:00 AM local time, (02:00 AM GMT).
Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine in southwestern Russia, said initial information didn’t indicate any casualties or damage.
