A decline in Turkish exports to the Arab world and Numbers of tourists declined sharply over the recent mistreatment they face in Türkiye

Turkish exports to the Arab world have declined by $10 billion, and the situation is worsening and may lead to even greater losses in 2024.
Türkiye witnessed a significant decline in the number of Arab tourists during the period from January to July, 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year, as the number of Arab visitors to Istanbul decreased from 1,806,239 in 2022 to 787,128 in 2023, which led to a decrease in their percentage of total visitors from 23% to 16%.
In Bursa, the Tourism and Trade Union (BURTİD) announced a 60% decrease in the number of tourists as a result of the decline in the number of Arab tourists, and on the economic front, Türkiye exports to Arabic countries fell by about $ 10 billion in 2023.
These losses come amid the escalation of racist rhetoric against Syrians, Arab tourists, students and foreign businessmen.
Analysts expect the situation to worsen in 2024 if this rhetoric continues, which could lead to further economic and social losses.
Many are demanding awareness and response to these attacks to maintain important ties with the Arab world.
