Haaretz: About the brutality of Israel
Famous Israeli columnist Gideon Levy wrote in the Israeli Haaretz newspaper that one of the worst things caused by the October 7 attack October is the Israel’s “loss of humanity” in a way that makes it nearly impossible to regain it.
Levy added that Israel can do anything for Palestinians, even shoot dogs at people with disabilities.
Levy started his piece from what happened to a Palestinian young man named, Mohamed Salah Bahar (25) who is with a special needs (Down syndrome) who lived in the Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza, who was called by Israeli soldiers a dog that tore his body, then let him die, and his mother hears his screams that didn’t touch anyone’s heart in the Israel version of 2024.
The mother was unable to save her son after soldiers forcibly removed her from the house and forced her to abandon him, leaving Mohamed of spices bleeding to death, he said, only for the family to discover his decomposing body a week later upon their return home.
Levy explained that the limbs of Palestinian prisoners were amputated inside the Sde Timan detention center, due to their handcuffs for several months, and because of torture.
He added that the deaths of young people – due to torture or lack of medical care and lack of food – have become routine.
He also mentioned that without the Public Committee against torture, there would be no protest against this in Israel that no longer wanted to hear such news, and even those who spoke about it were anti-Semitic.
Levy explained that even Adolf Eichmann was treated humanely and no one imagined being handcuffed or blindfolded for months, or being eaten by dogs.
Eichmann is considered one of the most famous Nazis responsible for deporting Jews to death camps in Poland, and was tasked with developing a plan to exterminate the Jews of Europe, and his life ended in hanging in 1962 after he was kidnapped by the foreign intelligence (Mossad) and tried in Israel.
