A commander in the Revolutionary Guard and three of his bodyguards were killed on the border with Syria
Iraqi sources, revealed the killing of the commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Muslim Shahdan, near the Syrian-Iraqi border, last Sunday night.
The sources reported, according to the aforementioned channel’s website, that “a drone targeted the commander in the Revolutionary Guard’s car on the border with Syria”.
“The commander in the Revolutionary Guard was killed by a drone after crossing the al Qaim crossing with Syria, noting that the targeting operation took place late Sunday”.
According to media outlets, “3 escorts were killed along with the leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, after they crossed the al Qaim crossing on the Syrian border”.
Iran is undergoing a wave of assassinations, as the nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Research and Development Organization in the Iranian Defense Ministry, was assassinated in a terrorist attack near Tehran, several days ago.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani vowed to respond in a timely manner to the assassination of the prominent nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the Research and Technology Center at the Iranian Ministry of Defense, who spent an armed attack on his car near the capital, Tehran.
Rouhani ordered “the necessary follow-up to prevent and confront such terrorist acts that threaten Iran’s security”.
For his part, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei called for an investigation into the assassination of the prominent nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, stressing at the same time the necessity of inflicting final punishment on the perpetrators and leaders of this crime.
