Mystery surrounds a mysterious explosion flash in Israel

Last night, the city of Beit Shemesh in central Israel witnessed a powerful explosion that resulted in a huge fireball, causing panic and fear among Israelis, before a military industries company said it was the result of an experiment, amid skepticism.

Several Israeli media outlets, including the official broadcasting authority, reported that a missile facility in Beit Shemesh, near Jerusalem, experienced a powerful explosion.

The explosion caused panic and terror, after a huge bang was heard and a massive fireball was spotted in the sky, leading many to believe that a surprise attack had occurred.

According to the media, it was later revealed that the explosion was due to an experiment carried out by the state-owned military industries company Tomer for the benefit of the Israeli military system.

The company said in a brief statement that “the experiment was conducted according to the plan,” with no further details.

Tomer is one of the leading companies working in the development of rocket engines in Israel, including systems used in the Arrow anti-missile missiles and satellite launch platforms.

According to company official, the explosion was monitored and coordinated, but the reasons for carrying out the test around 23:00 (local time), coinciding with reports of preparations linked to Iran, were unclear.

The broadcasting authority noted that a similar explosion occurred at the same factory in 2021, and the company said at the time that it was the result of a coordinated test carried out according to the work program without any injuries or exceptional events being recorded.

The behavior of the state-owned Tomer military industries company was surprising and insane for conducting a huge experiment that created a terrifying mass of flame at night without informing the public.

He added that the company refused to answer why the huge fire mushroom appeared in the sky, and merely stated that it was working around the clock and that the experiment hadn’t failed, amid widespread skepticism from residents of the area regarding the official account.

A “fire mushroom” or “mushroom cloud” is a huge cloud of smoke that takes the shape of a mushroom, and forms in the sky as a result of massive explosions, especially nuclear ones.

The nature and cause of the explosion couldn’t be independently verified, as Israel imposes strict censorship on the media.
