Ismail Kowsari, a member of the National Security Committee of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, asserted that Tehran’s adversaries “don’t know the extent of the capabilities” possessed by the Islamic Republic.

Kowsari pointed out that it would be difficult for the United States and Israel to replenish their stockpiles of missiles and bombs that were depleted during the 40-day war with Iran, unlike the Islamic Republic.

The Fars News Agency quoted the official as saying: “The enemy did everything it could during the forty days… It’s not easy for it now to replace what it lost in bombs and missiles, while we can easily replace our losses”.

Kowsari stressed that Iran’s enemies “don’t know the level of capabilities” that the Islamic Republic possesses, adding: “The enemies can drop bombs and launch missiles, but our nation is ready to confront any threat… We’ve started now, and the enemy will regret it”.

CNN reported, citing an assessment by Harvard Kennedy School expert Linda Bilmes, that a conflict with Iran could ultimately cost the United States $1 trillion.

The assessment indicated that Washington would need years to replenish its stockpiles of munitions, including precision-guided weapons, with the cost of replacing a single Tomahawk missile estimated at $3.5 million, compared to its original cost of $2 million.

Furthermore, medium- and long-term maintenance costs for equipment used in the conflict, including aircraft carrier groups, could reach tens or even hundreds of billions of dollars over the next four to five years.

The Pentagon announced last Tuesday that the cost of the US military operation against Iran is already approaching $29 billion, including the costs of repairing and replacing equipment, as well as the operational expenses of keeping personnel in the region.
