Israel officially begins ground operation in southern Lebanon
The Israeli army announced, at dawn on Tuesday, the start of a ground military operation in southern Lebanon.
It explained in a statement that the operation includes limited raids targeting Hezbollah sites in the border areas of southern Lebanon, noting that these targets are located in villages close to the border and pose a direct threat to residents in northern Israel.
The statement said that the ground forces are supported by the air force and artillery through precise strikes on military targets in the area, stressing that Operation “Northern Arrows” will continue based on an assessment of the situation and in parallel with military operations in Gaza and other arenas.
The Israeli army indicated that the operations were carried out with the approval of the political leadership.
