Haaretz: The Israeli army didn’t achieve any goal in the Gaza war
Haaretz newspaper said on Saturday quoted members of the mini-cabinet as saying that the Israeli army hasn’t yet achieved any of the goals of the war in the Gaza Strip, amid the intensification of the internal dispute in Israel over who bears responsibility for the security and military failure in confronting Hamas attack on October 7.
Haaretz added that the members of the mini-cabinet acknowledged that the capabilities of Hamas exist and are performing their functions, that its military leaders are alive, and that the majority of the tunnels haven’t yet been demolished.
The officials also stated that it would take several more months to disarm Hamas, and stressed that it still controls the Gaza Strip, despite the three months of war.
Regarding the Israeli prisoners in Gaza, Israeli officials said that half of the prisoners are still with Hamas, amid the Israeli army’s inability to recover any prisoner through the ground operation in the Strip.
For its part, the Israeli Channel 12 quoted senior sources in the Israeli army as being disturbed by what they called the ministerial staff’s fight against them, explaining that the IDF is fighting in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Lebanon, but the government is fighting them, as they put it.
For his part, former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen, in an article published by Haaretz newspaper, placed the blame for the failure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stressing that he must pay the price.
He said that the government’s decisions threaten Israel’s existence, and expose Israelis to the risk of returning to Russia, Poland, Britain and others if those countries accept to receive them.

It’s noteworthy that Israeli officials revealed, Friday, that Netanyahu and other ministers are trying to blame the military security apparatus for the failure of October 7.
Analysts believe that Netanyahu’s attempts to blame the failure on the army come in the context of his desire to achieve personal and political gains, while facing judicial charges of corruption.
