20 Turkish military personnel killed in a cargo plane crash on the Azerbaijani-Georgian border
All 20 military personnel aboard a military cargo plane that crashed Tuesday in eastern Georgia while returning from Azerbaijan were killed, according to the Turkish Defense Ministry on Wednesday.
The Turkish authorities have released the names and photos of the 20 military personnel, but haven’t yet explained the cause of the C-130 crash.
The plane had taken off from Ganja in western Azerbaijan for Türkiye and crashed shortly after entering Georgian airspace on Tuesday afternoon.
The wreckage of the plane was spotted in the afternoon, according to Turkish authorities.
Videos revealed the crash showed as the plane was spotted falling in a circle moves, leaving behind white smoke, before crashing into a thick black plume.
In these videos, the plane appears to have partially disintegrated during its fall.
