The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stripped several powerful former politicians of their Ukraine citizenship on Saturday, in the latest moves to cleanse the country of influential pro-Russian currents.

“Today I signed the relevant documents to take another step to protect and cleanse our state from those who are on the side of the aggressor,” Zelensky said during his video speech.

Zelensky didn’t mentioned names but he said that they had dual citizenship (Ukrainian-Russian).

According to Ukrainian state media, the list includes several senior politicians from the office of Viktor Yanukovych, Ukraine’s pro-Russian president from 2010 until he was removed from office in 2014.

According to the Ukrainian news agency RBC, the list included Dmytro Tabachnik, former Minister of Education and Science, Andrei Klyuyev, former Deputy Prime Minister, and Vitaly Zakharchenko, former Minister of Interior.
