Zakharova warns German Defense Minister against testing the capabilities of the Russian army
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova expressed her hope that there will be reasonable leaders in Germany who can prevent Defense Minister Annegret Karenbauer from testing the capabilities of the Russian army.
On the eve of the NATO meeting, German Defense Minister Kramp-Karrenbauer expressed her lack of interest in a serious dialogue with Moscow on de-escalation, and stressed that NATO must show its willingness to use its armed forces against Russia, expressing a desire to test the capabilities of our armed forces.
“The NATO Council meeting confirmed once again that the entire gigantic giant of NATO is still, after 70 years, exclusively aimed at containing Russia”, she added.
And she continued: “After the alliance failed to end the era of major operations, it returned again, as happened during the Cold War, to increasing its capabilities to confront (the enemy in the east), with defensive plans on the eastern flank to intensify its flights in the Baltic and Black Sea skies”.
Zakharova noted that “accusations of the collapse of the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range Missiles were repeated against Russia, and in response the coalition will continue to strengthen its air defense systems and deploy F-35 fighters”.
She concluded: “NATO members no longer remember that they previously told us that the missile defense system is only aimed at repelling threats from Iran”.
