Yedioth Ahronoth: Israel is turning from a strategic asset to a burden to Washington
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper wrote on Saturday, that Israel appeared in the eyes of the Americans as if it needs rescue, not just support, with the possibility of war breaking out with Hezbollah and Iran, after Hamas attack on October 7.
Yedioth Ahronoth added that Israel would lose its strategic legitimacy with Washington, and turn from a “strategic asset into a burden”.
According to the Israeli newspaper, “Israel is forbidden from ending this war without clarifying to the United States that it was and continues to be a partner”.
Earlier, the new Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, confirmed US support for Israel, during a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
While Israel continues its bombing against the Gaza Strip, for 22 days, isolating the besieged Strip from the world, by cutting off communication networks and the Internet.
