The White House released a video Friday that combines footage of real strikes with short clips from action movies, using a dramatic style to depict the war in Iran.

The 42-second clip posted on the X titled “Justice the American Way,” and begins with a scene from the movie “Iron Man” and the phrase “Wake up… Father at home,” a possible reference to NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte’s description of President Donald Trump as a “father,” calling him “Daddy” in English.

This was followed by a quick montage of short clips from several movies or TV series including Top Gun: Maverick, Gladiator, Braveheart, Transformers, and Breaking Bad.

The video features Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr., Mel Gibson, Russell Crowe, Keanu Reeves, and Bryan Cranston.

The footage is interspersed with images released by the US military, showing real strikes on various targets.

US Defense Secretary Pete Higgseth appears briefly during a press conference, pronouncing the letters “F” and “A”.

The term refers to a vulgar phrase used by the Trump administration to describe its hardline stance toward any adversary, “FAFO” (short for “Fuck around, find out” and can be translated into Arabic as “challenge and you will see the result”.

Ben Stiller, the director of the film “Tropic Thunder,” which mocks the making of war films and used a few seconds of it in the White House video, demanded that the clip be removed from the X platform.

“We never gave you permission, and we don’t want to be part of your propaganda machine,” Stiller said, adding, “War isn’t a movie”.

A few hours later, the White House released another clip combining footage of air strikes on Iran with images from the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Trump’s campaign has been characterized by an aggressive and often controversial style of communication, using online methods, video games, cinema, and sometimes artificial intelligence.

Trump’s team hasn’t changed its tone on social media since returning to the White House.
