The Wall Street Journal, said in an article that Hezbollah exploits Nasrallah’s funeral to show that he is still alive.

According to the article, Hezbollah is going through tough situation after the death of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, and shows how the party seeks to maintain its political and military power despite the Israeli attacks and the challenges it faces.

The aim of the huge funeral is to show Hezbollah’s ability to Lebanon and the world to maintain security control, and to show the large number of supporters of the party, even though it lost some of its capabilities and legitimacy in its conflict with Israel.

During the funeral, Israel launched several air strikes in targets in southern Lebanon.

Nevertheless, Israel, by flying its jet fighters at a low altitude over Beirut during the funeral, “seized the opportunity to mock its enemy,” according to the article.

The statements of the party’s Secretary-General, Naim Qassem, who insisted on continuing the resistance against Israel, and declared that Nasrallah’s path wouldn’t stop.

Hezbollah has obstructed the election of a president for Lebanon for two years, and that in return the Lebanese authorities are working to suppress Hezbollah, through careful inspection of commercial flights in search of funds heading to the party, in addition to arresting activists who support Hezbollah on charges of intimidating the local media.

In conclusion, Hezbollah is trying to enhance its image despite the political and military challenges it faces.
