According to reports, clashes began after midnight and are still ongoing.

Jibril al Muhajir, the son of French-Senegalese jihadist Omar Oumsin, who leads the Ghuraba (Strangers) Brigade in the town of Harem, north of Idlib, near the Turkish boarders, explained that the clashes were linked to “France’s request to handover two wanted French nationals from the group.

The Syrian security forces started a large-scale security operation targeted the French camp in Harem, after it was surrounded, with the aim of handing over French personnel wanted by their government, and later on, clashes subsequently erupted between the two sides.
