The Republican Senators Lindsay Graham and James Lancford considered that Ankara would pay the price for deviating from its alliance with Washington, and replacing that with an alliance contract with Moscow.

In an article by Graham and Lancford under the title “The Price of the Turkish-Russian Rapprochement” published in the American “Journal Street”, they clarified that “the Turkish people are friends to their American counterparts, but it is Turkey’s leaders who opened the way for sanctions against them”.

And they added, “Turkey will pay the price for deviating from its alliance with the United States, and replace that with an alliance with Russia”.

They said, “Since 1952, Turkey has been an ally of the United States.

The Incirlik Air Base in Turkey occupies an important place to combat terrorism.

Turkey helped thousands of Syrians seeking asylum.

Turkey has been a society open for many years to people of all religions.

Turkey stood against the Russian aggression, but now it has changed its course and from being an important ally of Washington.

And they added, “The United States agreed to sell 100 F-35s to Turkey, and it also agreed to include Turkish companies in the production of plane parts.

However, 3 years ago, Ankara decided to purchase the Russian S-400 missile system designed to shoot down the F-35.

It is unacceptable to allow Russian “advisors” to operate close to the F-35 and to keep the S-400 radar system close to the American aircraft.

They pointed out that “the Turkish authorities were warned before dealing with Russia, because of the dire consequences that would result from”.

Graham and Lancford emphasized that “the United States must protect its interests from threats from Iran, Russia and North Korea, and Turkey must understand the consequences of its decisions”.
