Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, Director of the Office of the former US Secretary of State, said that Ukraine may lose Odessa after the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counterattack.

“Now Ukraine may face the fact that Russia will launch its offensive and they will reach Odessa… Then they will lose the last outlet,” Lawrence Wilkerson said in an interview with the “Dialogue Works” channel on YouTube.

According to Col. Wilkerson, Kiev’s attempt to launch a counterattack has led to disastrous consequences for the Ukrainian armed forces.

He added, “The Ukrainian forces suffered heavy losses among personnel, which brought them close to defeat in the theater of operations”.

Wilkerson noted that from the outset the Kiev regime had no chance of success against Russia, even with the comprehensive assistance of NATO.

The Ukrainian offensive began in the directions of southern Donetsk, Zaporizhia, and Bakhmut, on June 4, while the main attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces focused on the Zaporizhia sector, where Kiev deployed combat brigades trained by NATO and equipped with Western equipment, including Leopard tanks.

After the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, and the Kherson and Zaporizhia provinces, joined Russia, in September 2022, the task of the Russian forces became to liberate the entire territory of these regions from the grip of the Ukrainian forces, in addition to other goals represented in disarming Ukraine, ensuring its neutrality, eliminating Nazism there, and presenting those responsible for war crimes to justice.

Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that Russia does not plan to occupy Ukrainian lands, explaining that Russia’s goal is to protect people who have been subjected to persecution and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.
