The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights website said that the coalition forces stationed at the base of Al Tanf area on the border with Iraq launched more than 14 rockets on a convoy of the Syrian forces while passing through the desert in the far eastern Homs countryside.

The Syrian forces are fighting against the Islamic state, which is spreading in positions east of the city of Homs in the vast desert.

“The convoy was stranded in the middle of the desert about 35 kilometers from the Al Tanf base”, said Rami Abdul Rahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The United States uses the Al Tanf base to carry out operations against the Islamic state.

There are US and British forces are stationed in Al Tanf base, which used to train Syrian opposition fighters.
