US military official: We intercepted 4 cruise missiles and 15 Yemeni drones in 9 hours that were heading towards Israeli targets

US military official told CNN that the US Navy ship USS Carney intercepted 4 cruise missiles and 15 drones off the coast of Yemen.
The US army official said that this interception operation took 9 hours last Thursday.
He also said that the missiles and planes were heading towards Israeli targets, thus confirming what the Pentagon had previously suggested, as it stated that they were likely directed towards targets in Israel.
According to CNN, “the continuous barrage of drones and missiles targeting Israel from far away is one of the worrying signs that the war may extend beyond the borders of the Gaza Strip”.
CNN added that US confronting the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen are extremely rare, which makes the timing of this incident, with escalating tensions as a result of the war in the Gaza Strip, even more important.
Shortly after the missiles were intercepted on Thursday, Israeli media reported that estimates indicate that the missiles intended to target southern occupied Palestine.
Israeli media reported an additional threat facing Israel, after the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen announced a comprehensive jihadist mobilization and its intention to participate effectively in the fighting in occupied Palestine.
The leader of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, Abdul-Malik al Houthi, previously announced that Sanaa is ready to participate in missile bombardment and marches, if the Americans intervene militarily and directly, stressing coordination with the axis of resistance.
