Official Syrian media sources reported that, today, Sunday, US forces surrounded the city of Al Basira in the northern countryside of Deir Al Zour.

The official “Syrian” channel, quoting local civil sources in the city, reported that the American forces cordoned off the entire city of Basira, and prevented the residents from entering and leaving the city.

On the other hand, at Al Hasakah governorate, on Sunday, members of the SDF, killed a civilian demonstrator and seriously wounded others, after targeting them with live bullets when chanting slogans against the “US occupation” during a demonstration that took place on Sunday (8 March), denouncing the US stealing national oil and private civil property, in front of the headquarters of the so-called “local council” of the “SDF” in the town of “Safira Tahtani” west of the Syrian province of Deir Al Zour.

Local resources, said that, the residents of the towns of “Al Mahaydah” and “Al Safira Tahatani” and other villages and towns of the Western Line (as he calls the people of the region), are members of the Bakara tribe who went out with mass demonstrations during which they cut off the roads, chanting slogans and slogans against the US occupation, asking to enter the Syrian army to their area.

The regions of the presence of the US forces in Syria, east of the Euphrates, witness a state of popular rejection of the US presence in the region, especially after the killing of a Syrian child by the US forces a few weeks ago, following which demonstrations and sit-ins took place in more than one Syrian city.
