The governor of the Mykolaiv region in Ukraine said that a Russian drone attack caused serious damage to a hotel in the city of Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine, and the Russian Information Agency reported that the hotel hosts English-speaking mercenaries fighting in Ukraine.

Vitaly Kim, the governor of Mykolaiv, said via Telegram, “The enemy attacked the city with a Shahid-131/136 drone”.

He added, “As a result, a building in the hotel was severely damaged and a fire broke out that was quickly extinguished with no deaths or injuries”.

Kim and Ukraine’s state emergency service said the Russian attack also shattered windows at a nearby hotel and that heating infrastructure was damaged.

The Russian Information Agency quoted Russian non-governmental fighters in the region as saying that Russian forces bombed a shipbuilding yard and a hotel in Mykolaiv, where English-speaking mercenaries reside and fight in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Air Force also said on Sunday via Telegram channel that its forces destroyed a drone launched by Russia over Mykolaiv, without providing details.

He added that he also destroyed four other drones launched by Russia over the area surrounding the capital, Kiev, the Vinnitsa and Kirovohrad regions in the center of the country, and over the Khmelnytsky region in the west.
