Türkiye: Mossad agent running money network in Istanbul arrested
On Tuesday, the Turkish judiciary decided to imprison Liridon Rexhepi, an agent for the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, after his arrest on August 30.
Security sources explained that Rexhepi was running a Mossad money network in Türkiye, filming footage with drones on orders from the Israeli intelligence agency, in addition to psychological warfare activities against Palestinian politicians.
It turned out that Rexhepi, whose nationality wasn’t revealed, transferred money to Mossad agents in Türkiye, who in turn were gathering information about Syria.
The sources said that the Turkish authorities monitored all of Rexhepi’s movements, especially the financial transfers in his accounts, starting from his entry into Türkiye on August 25.
In coordination between the Turkish Intelligence Service and the Counter-Terrorism Department of the Istanbul Security Directorate, he was arrested on August 30 and later imprisoned after he confessed to transferring money to Mossad agents in Türkiye and Syria from Eastern European countries, especially Kosovo.
