Trump wins the Republican Party primary elections in the US state of Iowa as Ramaswamy announces his withdrawal from the election race
Unofficial results showed that former US President Donald Trump won the Republican primary elections in Iowa.
According to the results, Trump led in Iowa by a large margin over his rivals, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the former Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Nikki Haley.
According to these results, Trump received 51% of the votes, while DeSantis received a little more than 21%, Haley received 19%, while Vivek Ramaswamy received 7.7% of the votes.
After the results came out, Ramaswamy announced in a press conference his withdrawal from the election race and his intention to support Trump.
The primary elections will continue until June 8, with the next stage scheduled to take place in New Hampshire on January 23.
In the coming July and August, the Democratic and Republican parties will announce their official candidates for the presidential elections that will be held on November 5, 2024.
