US President Donald Trump has announced that no US official will attend the G20 summit in South Africa, repeating claims that the white minority has been systematically killed and slaughtered in the African country.

Trump announced in September that Vice President J.D. Vance would represent him at the summit, before now declaring a boycott of it entirely.

“It’s absolutely shameful that the G20 summit is being held in South Africa,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“No US government official will attend as long as these human rights violations continue”.

Trump said Afrikaans, or the white minority descended from the descendants of early European settlers in South Africa, are being killed, slaughtered and illegally confiscated their land and farms.

He added that he is looking forward to hosting the 2026 G20 summit in the United States at his private golf resort in Miami, Florida.

Trump has attacked South Africa on several issues since returning to the White House in January, most notably his allegations of “white genocide” in the country.

The Republican president has been highly critical of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa during a White House reception this year, where he showed him videos of alleged abuses by post-apartheid governments against white farmers, however, the South African government has denied any such policy.

The Trump administration announced last week that it would prioritize accepting white South African refugees.

The disparities between the two countries also included the case brought by South Africa before the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.

Trump imposed a 30% tariff on South Africa, the highest among countries in southern Africa.
