US President Donald Trump plans to leave the G7 summit in Canada on Monday evening, a day early, amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said on social media that Trump had a productive day at the summit, where he signed a major trade agreement with the United Kingdom and its Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Levitt added that many achievements were made during the summit, but given the rapid developments in the Middle East, President Trump decided to leave the meeting in the evening after having dinner with the leaders of the participating countries.

Regarding the tension and the ongoing confrontation between Israel and Iran, Trump vetoed an Israeli plan to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in recent days.

Reports indicate that US officials have assured us that there are no current steps to pursue or target the Iranian political leadership, including Khamenei, as Israel is considering the option of assassinating Khamenei.

In contrast, Israeli media reported that they didn’t rule out the possibility of carrying out an operation to assassinate the Iranian Supreme Leader, but emphasized that the matter is linked to several complex and changing factors.
