Trump challenges Biden and invites him to an election debate anytime, anywhere

The potential candidate for the US presidential elections, Donald Trump, invited current President Joe Biden to an election debate “anytime, anywhere,” after Super Tuesday, as their confrontation for the presidential position in 2024 became almost certain.

Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, “It’s important, for the good of our country, that Joe Biden and I discuss issues that are very vital to America and the American people; Therefore, I call for debate anytime, anywhere”.

He added that the debates could be run by the Democratic National Committee, which he described as corrupt, or its affiliated committee, the Commission on Presidential Debates.

He continued, “I look forward to receiving a response… Thank you for your interest in this issue”.

After Nikki Haley dropped out from the presidential race on Wednesday, Trump became the sole candidate for the Republican Party.

Although Trump has repeatedly rejected the invitations of Haley and his main rivals in the Republican Party to participate in debates during the primary elections, because he believes that he won’t gain anything from competitors who are far ahead of them in the opinion polls, today he is seeking to debate Biden due to the small difference between them in the polls.

Donald Trump won 14 states in the Republican Party’s Super Tuesday primaries, including Texas and California, but lost in one state.

Last month, Trump expressed his desire to hold a debate with Biden immediately, adding on a radio program, “I would like to debate him now because we have to have a debate… We must hold a debate for the good of the country”.

When journalists asked him during a trip to Las Vegas about Trump’s invitation to debate with him, Biden said, “If I were in his place, I would want to debate me, too… He has nothing to do”.
