US President Donald Trump announced that Kazakhstan is preparing to join the Abraham Accords, which aim to normalize relations between Israel and a number of Arab and Muslim countries.

Trump confirmed that the official signing ceremony will be announced soon, noting that the move marks a new beginning in the path of regional peace.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump revealed a call he had with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, calling it wonderful, and announcing that Kazakhstan would be the first country to join the agreements during his second term.

Trump added that other countries have begun lining up to join the agreements, which he described as a bridge to peace and prosperity, stressing that there is real progress in efforts to unite countries around stability and growth.

The Kazakh government announced that it’s in the final stages of negotiations to join the agreements, noting that Nur-Sultan already has strong diplomatic and economic relations with Tel Aviv, making this a natural extension of the country’s foreign policy.

It’s noteworthy that the Abraham Accords were launched in 2020 at the initiative of the United States, and resulted in the normalization of relations between Israel and the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan.

The agreements include cooperation in the fields of diplomacy, trade, tourism, and security, and Washington has considered them a historic achievement toward achieving peace in the Middle East.

White House officials have expressed optimism that more Arab countries will join the agreements during President Trump’s second term, in light of the growing momentum toward promoting regional stability.
