The US forces test anti-drone weapon in Syria
US forces stationed in northeastern Syria have brought new weapons to their bases, which have been repeatedly attacked over the past week.
Three large cargo planes carrying weapons, equipment and advanced air defense systems arrived, two of which landed on Tuesday.
On Wednesday evening, the Kharab al Jir base near the town of Rmelan in northeastern Syria tested an advanced weapon designed to intercept suicide drones.
Meanwhile, a video was posted on YouTube by the London based, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights showing the successful test of this new weapon.
These measures come after the Kharab al Jir base was attacked by a drone on August 9, which resulted in the injury of 8 US soldiers, according to what the Pentagon announced on Tuesday evening.
The Kharab al Jir base, which was established in 2014, is one of the most important US bases in Syria, as it receives military reinforcements and soldiers are distributed to other bases, and the base contains combat helicopters and surveillance drones.
At the same time, security alert continues in other US bases such as Conoco and Al Omar Field in the Deir Ezzor countryside, with the increase in mobilization operations and movements of pro-Iranian factions on the western bank of the Euphrates River.
