Sources in Washington revealed that the administration of US President Joe Biden doesn’t intend to disclose, Wednesday, restrictions on the export of Iranian drones used by Russia in its invasion of Ukraine.

This came in a comment from the source on a report by Bloomberg News Agency earlier Wednesday that said that it is possible that the United States will announce restrictions targeting Iranian drones as part of an announcement of sanctions that is expected to coincide with the surprise visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Washington.

Source aren’t authorized to speak publicly in this regard.

Zelensky will visit Washington on Wednesday for talks with Biden and address Congress, his first declared foreign visit since Russia invaded his country.

The United States previously imposed sanctions on companies and individuals, accusing them of producing or transporting Iranian drones that Russia used to attack civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.

Iran has acknowledged sending the drones to Russia, but says it sent them before the Russian invasion in February.

Moscow denied that its forces used Iranian drones in Ukraine.

Britain, which also imposed sanctions on Iranian drones, accused Russia on Tuesday of planning to supply Iran with advanced military components in exchange for hundreds of drones.
